Idaho's first foals are pleasing breeders
Having retired to stud in late March of last year, the first foals by Idaho are now arriving and include this quality colt out of Happy Flight bred by John Butler who described him as “probably the best foal we’ve ever had.”
Another happy breeder is Pat Fennessy of Ballinaroone Stud. “I’m delighted with my Idaho colt out of Carabora [a full-sister to Racing Post Chase, Charlie Hall Chase and Aintree Bowl Chase winner Nacarat],” he said. “He has size, scope and presence and I have three mares back in foal to Idaho already on the strength of him.”
Winner of the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot, the Great Voltigeur Stakes at York and the Ormonde Stakes at Chester, Idaho was also placed in the Epsom Derby, the Irish Derby and behind Enable in the ‘King George’. Bred on the famed Galileo/Danehill cross he is a full brother to seven-time Group 1 winning superstar Highland Reel.
