5-length Getaway bumper winner for Gigginstown
Imperial Way (5g Getaway-Stormy Moment, by Glacial Storm) became another decent bumper winner for Getaway at Wexford on Monday.
Joseph O’Brien’s charge, owned by Gigginstown House Stud, took the lead two furlongs out to win the race by five lengths. There was a 1-2 for Getaway as the Noel Meade-trained Mad Carew (5g Getaway-Babygotback, by Amilynx) took second.
Winning rider Patrick Mullins believes that Imperial Way, who was bred by Tom Devereux, could be even better when going jumping.
"He did it well and he was entitled to do it on his good runs up the country at Leopardstown and Fairyhouse,” said Mullins. “I think he is a horse who will be better over a jump, and the further he goes the better I'd say. I think they'll have a lot of fun with him."
