Impressive Maiden Victory For Milan Mare

The Shane Byrne owned and trained Achy Breaky Heart (5m Milan - Hazy Outlook, by Needle Gun) ran out an impressive winner of the Albert Bartlett Five-Year-Old Mares Maiden at Tinahely on Saturday.

Third on debut over course and distance two weeks prior, she raced prominently in the field of five and quickened with three of her rivals as they approached the third last fence. Pulling clear alongside newcomer Frank And Honest from the back straight, she was left in command when that rival fell and the bay mare raced home strongly under Harry Dunne to score by 15 lengths.

The Aidan Furlong-bred mare will now presumably return to the sales ring to provide a tidy profit for connections.
