Impressive Maiden Victory For Son Of Milan
Groody Rover (5g Milan - Glin Beauty, by Turtle Island) made a very favourable impression when winning the Five-Year-Old Geldings Maiden at Kildorrery by 12 lengths on Sunday.
Third on both his previous starts, the Philip Fenton-trained bay was sent off favourite under Eoin O’Brien and was ridden to make all. Jumping well throughout, he extended his advantage from the third last and ran home strongly, unchallenged.
Owned by the Steeplechasers Club and bred by Mr W. Martin, Groody Rover comes from the family of Triumph Hurdle hero Scolardy, as well as the top flat family of Eva Luna and Loch Garman.
