Improving Soldier Of Fortune Gelding Gets Off The Mark
Nothingtodowithyou (5g Soldier Of Fortune – Niceanspicy, by Cloudings) took a step forward on Sunday to gain his maiden victory at Ballyvodock.
The Niall Kelleher-trained bay was one of 14 to line up for the maiden and raced in second for much of the way under Patrick Gleeson. He improved to lead before the bypassed second last and after producing a fine leap at the final fence, kept on to win by two and a half lengths. Promising newcomer Pike Road (Yeats) took second, finishing eight lengths clear of the third.
Nothingtodowithyou is owned by Lorna Busteed with Angela and Gemma Kelleher. The Soldier Of Fortune gelding was bred by Mrs Mary Mangan.
