It’s official - Jezki is Champion
After his sensational season, Milan’s son Jezki (6g Milan-La Noire, by Phardante) has been crowned the champion two-mile hurdler of Britain and Ireland by the official handicappers.
The six-year-old was rated 169 in the 2013/14 Anglo-Irish Jump Classifications following a season that saw him carry J P McManus’s colours to victory in both the G1 Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham and G1 Racing Post Champion Hurdle at Punchestown.
Irish handicapper Noel O’Brien told the Racing Post that he believes that the Jessica Harrington-trained Jezki, now a six-time G1 winner, can take over the top two-mile hurdling crown from the legendary Hurricane Fly.
“The king is dead, long live the king. Hurricane Fly has been a great champion but maybe time has caught up with him,” said O’Brien.
