Leading Light Mare Shines On Rules Debut

Leading Theatre (5m Leading Light - Theatre Days, by King’s Theatre) made a perfect start for new connections when justifying favouritism in the mares’ bumper at Worcester on Wednesday.

Last seen in December when finishing third in a four-year-old mares maiden for Jerry Baragry, the daughter of Leading Light was sent off favourite on her rules debut for the Fergal O’Brien team. Racing towards the back of the field under Paddy Brennan, she made headway from three furlongs out and was asked to challenge entering the final furlong. Running on well, she led close home to win by a length.
