Lostintranslation Heads Gold Cup Market After Grade 1 Victory
Lostintranslation (7g Flemensfirth - Falika, by Hero’s Honor) is now favourite for the Cheltenham Gold Cup after denying Bristol De Mai his third consecutive Betfair Chase at Haydock.
An impressive winner of a Listed chase on return, Colin Tizzard’s charge returned to the extended three mile trip of his Grade 1 Mildmay Novices’ Chase success in April and was sent off joint-favourite with his aforementioned rival. Held up by Robbie Power, he made headway to take second four from home and was ridden to lead from the final fence. Staying on well, he scored by a length and a half, the pair racing 25 lengths clear of the field.
The King George is now the aim according to Tizzard, with connections dreaming of the £1million bonus, before contending the Gold Cup. Now a five-time winner for owners Taylor and O’Dwyer, Lostintranslation began his career with the late Willie Codd. The son of Beeches Stud sire Flemensfirth was bred by ARMM Kavanagh.
