Mahler Mare Gains Deserved Maiden Win

Glendars Mahler (7m Mahler - Mount Abora, by Rock Of Gibraltar) made a successful drop in trip to get off the mark in the Mares Maiden Hurdle at Sligo on Thursday.

Trained by James Fahey for owner/breeder Frank Reynolds, the daughter of Mahler had placed over hurdles on three previous occasions, including behind smart prospect Kinbara (Mahler). Well-supported in the market on Thursday, she raced in touch under Mark McDonagh until asserting with over a circuit left to run. She was travelling best of the field when challenged after the second last and ran on well on the run-in to score by four lengths.
