Lightening Mahler (Mahler) Wins The Mares Maiden Hurdle At Hereford

Mahler Mare Makes Perfect Start Under Rules

Lightening Mahler (6m Mahler – All Eyes On Me, by Catcher In The Rye) shaped like a useful prospect when making a successful start under rules at Hereford on Thursday.

The Mahler mare made a smart debut for Benny Walsh at Dromahane in April, with the maiden having since produced a host of winners. Subsequently purchased by Ryan Mahon, she was sent off favourite on her first start for Dan Skelton in the mares’ maiden hurdle. She led for much of the way under Harry Skelton and was pushed along from two out. Clear at the final flight, she was ridden out to win by three and a quarter lengths, with another 22 lengths back to the third.

Lightening Mahler was bred by Sean Osborne and is now owned by Craig and Laura Buckingham.
