McCoy coasts home on Beach for Yeats
Yeats had another impressive winner on Wednesday when A P McCoy partnered Sebastian Beach (4g Yeats-Night Club, by Mozart) to an easy juvenile hurdle success at Chepstow.
The four-year-old, a dual Flat winner for Richard Hannon, justified odds-on favouritism to come home four and a half lengths clear of the field, to the delight of trainer Jonjo O’Neill.
"He's an honest horse who jumps well and stays well,” said O’Neill. “A P said at the winning post that he was going as well as he was at any time during the race.”
McCoy felt that the winner deserved a trip to the Cheltenham Festival and told the Racing Post: “Sebastian Beach jumps and he stays and the Fred Winter Handicap Hurdle might suit him.”
Sebastian Beach, who realised 58,000 guineas as a yearling, was bred in Ireland by Conor Murphy and Rathmore Stud.
