Medical Card wins G2 for Flemensfirth
The Noel Meade-trained Medical Card (8g Flemensfirth-Me Grannys Endoors, by Tremblant) starred at Naas on Sunday when landing the G2 Woodlands Park 100 Club Novice Chase under Davy Condon.
The Flemensfirth gelding, who was bred by Larry Mealiffe, fought off Crash (7g Milan-Mary Connors, by Mandalus) to land the three-mile contest and Meade is now considering a trip to the Cheltenham Festival.
“He wasn't great at the first but in a funny way it might have done him good as he jumped well from there on. We always felt he was a fair horse, and that he'd stay.
“I don't know where he'll go but he'll get an entry in the G1 RSA Chase and also the four mile chase at Cheltenham.”
