Milan doubles up at Punchestown
Milan was the sire to follow on the Punchestown Festival’s final day on Saturday when notching a high-profile double for owner J P McManus.
The Eddie Harty-trained Sort It Out (6g Milan-Snowbelle, by Flemensfirth), bred by Paul O’Dwyer, looked an exciting young prospect when winning the valuable 22-runner Grade B Setanta Handicap Hurdle.
“He was entitled to be there or thereabouts on his County Hurdle run which was probably over an inadequate trip,” said Harty. "He's progressed very well, and I'm not sure where we go now. It has been a good season for him. We put him away for this and he has done us proud.”
Earlier, Josies Orders (7g Milan-Silent Orders, by Bob Back) scored for trainer Enda Bolger, who feels the seven-year-old could be a high-class future banks performer. The seven-year-old (no.10, pictured) had come down earlier in the week when travelling well in the La Touche Cup.
