Milan G3 winner is Grand National prospect

Trainer Lucinda Russell is looking to target the Grand National with One For Arthur (8g Milan-Nonnetia, by Trempolino) after the eight-year-old scored at Warwick on Saturday.

The son of Milan, bred by J P Dwan, saw off 19 rivals to win the G3 Betfred Classic Chase by six lengths under Derek Fox.

“He jumps fantastically but was unfortunate in the Becher,” said Russell. “If he goes up enough in the weights he might be a National horse this year, but he’ll definitely be one next year.”
