Milan Mare Adds Bumper Win To Perfect Record
Irish point-to-point winner Subway Surf (5m Milan - Dante Rouge, by Croco Rouge) continued her winning ways under rules, as she ran out a commanding winner of the bumper at Ludlow on Thursday.
The Kim Bailey-trained mare was sent off a short-priced favourite for her exploits between the flags and was given a confident ride by David Bass, leading from flag fall. Driven out with two furlongs to go, she stayed on strongly to score by four lengths.
Subway Surf is owned by Surf On The Turf, a group which includes TV stars Carol Vorderman and Richard Hammond. Bred by Liz O’Leary, the bay won on debut for Colin Motherway in May, capturing a four-year-old mares maiden at Bartlemy.
