Milan Mare Captures Listed Prize For In Form Team
Whitehotchillifili (7m Milan - Mhuire Na Gale, by Norwich) ran on well in testing ground to land the Listed Mares’ Hurdle at Sandown on Saturday afternoon.
A fine second under topweight last time out over course and distance, Harry Fry’s charge was ridden to track the leaders by Sean Bowen and improved into second at the penultimate flight. Keeping on well to lead in the final 110 yards, the bay was pushed out to score by three lengths as the favourite Stormy Ireland was left to claim runners-up honours.
Saturday marked a third success over hurdles for Whitehotchillifili, whose first career win came in a bumper. Owned by the Chasing Gold Racing Club, the daughter of Milan was bred by Margaret Treacy.
