Milan Mare Makes All To Win Maiden Hurdle
Rhythm Divine (6m Milan - Diandrina, by Mondrian) made all to justify favoritism in Sunday’s Mares Maiden Hurdle at Downpatrick.
The Tom Gibney-trained mare jumped well throughout and began to extend her advantage from the final flight, scoring by eight and a half lengths under Darragh O’Keeffe.
Speaking after the race, the winning trainer said, “She is a brilliant jumper. We'll see what is there on the novice hurdle front or a handicap as she is well experienced. We have loads of options and she is very versatile trip-wise.”
Sunday marked a deserved maiden success for the daughter of Milan, who previously finished second in a Listed hurdle at the Punchestown Festival. Owned by Thomas and Walter O’Connor, Rhythm Divine was bred by Storeway Ltd.
