Milan Mare Makes Perfect Start Over Fences
Lucy Alexander partnered the Nick Alexander-trained Chanting Hill (6m Milan - Kitty Dillon, by Westerner) to a successful chase debut at Kelso on Saturday.
Successful on her sole point-to-point start for William Milburn, the daughter of Milan stepped up to three miles on her seasonal return and raced in midfield for much of the way. Pushed along from five out, the bay produced a challenge at the third last and improved into second at the final fence. Leading on the run-in, she ran on to score by a length and three quarters from Don’t Need To Know (Flemensfirth), as Illuminated Beauty (Flemensfirth) stayed on for third; 17 lengths clear of the field.
Owned by Quandt and Cochrane, Chanting Hill was bred by Longrove Stud and is a full-sister to Dashing Daisy (Milan), an impressive winner of her sole start.
