Milan Mare Produces Smart Debut Performance At Tinahely

Milans Edge (5m Milan - The Keane Edge, by Definite Article) completed a quickfire double for Colin Bowe and Barry O’Neill when making a winning debut in Sunday’s Five-Year-Old Mares Maiden at Tinahely.

Successful in the opener aboard Routine Excellence (Getaway), O’Neill rode the bay to chase the leader and was travelling well as they approached the straight. Producing a challenge at the second last, she soon led and kept on well to win by an easy five lengths from fellow newcomer Well Cliché (Milan).

Bred by Barry O’Connor, the daughter of Milan continued a fine day for Grange Stud sires, with Getaway having sired the winners of both openers at Tinahely and Umma House.
