Milansbar wins G3 Warwick feature
The Neil King-trained Milansbar (11g Milan-Ardenbar, by Ardross) showed his strength and stamina to win the feature G3 Classic Chase at Warwick on Saturday.
Bryony Front was always prominent in the 3m 5f event, hitting the front on the Milan gelding after the second-last fence and finishing 11 lengths clear of her rivals. The race was won last year by another son of Milan, subsequent Grand National winner One For Arthur (9g Milan-Nonnetia, by Trempolino).
“He was awesome. God, he jumped. I was really looking forward to riding him. I got a lovely breather in on the home bend and asked him to go in the straight and he just never stopped. I didn't even have to pick my stick up,” said Frost.
“He's a polite, big, lovely-striding horse. Neil said he jumped and stayed all day and to believe in him. He said I might need to scrub along way but it wasn't like that at all. My arms are more tired than my legs. He's been an absolute pleasure and romped home.”
Milansbar was bred by T J Wyatt.
