Mogul winning his maiden at the Curragh

Mogul joins the Coolmore NH roster

Group 2-winning juvenile and dual Group 1-winning three-year-old Mogul has been retired from racing and is set to stand at The Beeches for the coming season.

Winner of the Champions Juvenile Stakes-Gr.2 at Leopardstown, Mogul trained on well to score twice at the highest level as a three-year-old. In the Grand Prix de Paris-Gr.1 he defeated German Derby winner and ‘Arc’ runner-up In Swoop and Epsom Derby winner Serpentine while in the Hong Kong Vase-Gr.1 he had three lengths to spare over Hong Kong Horse Of The Year Exultant.

Mogul is a full-brother to another top-class performer in Japan who won the Beresford Stakes-Gr.2 as a juvenile before going on to win the Grand Prix de Paris-Gr.1 and the Juddmonte International Stakes-Gr.1 the following season.

“As you’d expect of a horse who cost 3,400,000 Guineas as a yearling, Mogul is a very impressive looking individual with a great walk and an outstanding pedigree,” said Robert McCarthy. “His dam has produced five blacktype horses and there are six Group 1 winners under his first two dams. And of course, like Frankel, he’s bred on that great Galileo/Danehill cross. We are very excited to have himself, In Swoop and Santiago all joining the Coolmore roster for 2022.”
