Conflated Becomes The Latest Winner By Yeats At Clonmel

More To Come From Son Of Yeats After Bumper Win

A bright future over hurdles may be in store for Conflated (5g Yeats - Saucy Present, by Presenting) according to connections, after the Gordon Elliott-trained bay registered a maiden victory in Tuesday’s bumper at Clonmel.

Second in a Leopardstown bumper during the Christmas Festival, the Gigginstown House Stud-owned gelding was once again ridden by Declan Lavery. Chasing the leaders for much of the two mile contest, he improved into fourth at halfway and made a challenge with over two furlongs left to race. Leading over a furlong from home, he was pushed out to beat Sneaky Getaway (Getaway) by a comfortable length and a quarter, as the favourite Royal Thief (Fame And Glory) took third.

The winning rider later said his mount "has lots of ability,” adding, “I'd say when he gets a hurdle in front of him he'll be better again.”

Conflated was sold by Glenvale Stud as a three-year-old, making €92,000 at the Derby Sale; a tidy profit on his €46,000 foal price. Bred by the Dillon family, he is a three-parts brother to Grade 1 chaser Ordinary World (Milan).
