Much To Look Forward To With Son Of Yeats
Dual point-to-point winner West Cork Wildway (5g Yeats - Dollar’s Worth, by Presenting) won his bumper debut with minimum fuss at Tipperary on Monday.
The Paul O’Flynn-trained gelding was sent off the even-money favourite for the two and a half mile contest, with Eoin O’Brien riding him to track the leaders. Travelling well three furlongs out, he led before the two furlong marker and stayed on strongly to score by four and a half lengths.
O’Brien commented after the race, “He's a very nice horse with a good pedigree. Any horse who can win a four-year-old maiden first time out obviously has a fair level of ability and he won a winners' race too. You'd look forward to him in a maiden hurdle after that, he's a very athletic jumper.”
Owned by the Fernhill Tower Syndicate, West Cork Wildway was bred by Jonathan Deacon.
