Progressive Son Of Getaway Proves Popular At Cheltenham
Captain Checkdown (5g Getaway - Come On Rosie) provided Andrew Latta with a terrific return when selling for £180,000 at Friday’s Tattersalls Cheltenham February Sale.
Tony Martin was the successful bidder, and after signing as Bloodstock Accountancy Services, explained that he was purchased for a new client. “The horse was well recommended to us and was impressive when he won,” his new trainer commented. “We’ll carry on with him now, he’s a five-year-old and we’ll look to win a bumper.”
The son of Getaway shared deadheat honours earlier this month in a five-year-old maiden at Ballinaboola, where they drew ten lengths clear of the third. This followed a promising debut fourth, with the third having since won and the winner having made a successful rules debut this week.
