Progressive Son Of Westerner Wins Bumper

The Wild Westerner (6g Westerner - Nosey Oscar, by Oscar) shaped like a nice prospect when running out a clear winner of Friday’s bumper at Market Rasen.

Third over course and distance on debut last month, the Laura Morgan-trained bay was reunited with Adam Wedge on Friday and chased the leaders for much of the way. Making headway on the turn for home, he produced a strong challenge approaching two furlongs out and led a furlong later. Going clear, he was pushed out to beat the favourite by three and a quarter lengths, with another seven lengths back to the third horse.

Owned by Mrs Jane Hanson, the son of Westerner was bred by Oliver Loughlin.
