Progressive Son Of Yeats Lands Listed Hurdle
Cobblers Dream (6g Yeats - Miss Parkington, by Bob Back) took another step forward for Ben Case on Saturday when landing the Listed Lanzarote Handicap Hurdle at Kempton.
Ridden prominently by Jack Quinlan, he was shaken up to lead approaching the second last and was ridden clear from the final flight to win by five and a half lengths.
Speaking after the race, the winning trainer said, “He seems to be getting better all the time which is great. He looks to be a proper horse but where he goes from here we will see what the handicapper does.” He noted that Cheltenham may now be on the agenda, adding, “Whatever way you look at it he has had a good season.”
Purchased by Case and Kevin Ross after winning a point-to-point bumper for Sean Aherne, the son of Yeats is owned by Lady Jane Grosvenor and was bred by Christopher Maye.
