Flooring Porter (Yeats) Wins The Grade B Hurdle At Navan

Progressive Son Of Yeats Lands Valuable Feature

Saturday saw the Gavin Cromwell-trained Flooring Porter (5g Yeats - Lillymile, by Revoque) land a valuable prize for connections when running out an impressive winner of the Grade B handicap hurdle at Navan.

The syndicate-owned bay came into the race with three hurdle wins to his name, as well as a fine third in Guinness Handicap Hurdle at this year’s Galway Festival. Leading from the early stages under Jonathan Moore, he raced clear after the third last and extended his advantage to 12 lengths on the line.

One would expect a step up in class is now on the cards for Flooring Porter, who was bred by Sean Murphy out of three-time winner Lillymile.

Conflated (6g Yeats -Saucy Present, by Presenting) completed a quickfire double for Yeats on the Navan card when taking the Beginners Chase by all of 17 lengths under Jack Kennedy.

The Gordon Elliott-trained bay also made virtually all and began to quicken from three out, going clear after the penultimate flight. Owned by Gigginstown Stud, Conflated had been placed on his two previous starts over fences and was Grade 2 placed over hurdles last season.

The €92,000 store buy was bred by the Dillon Family and is a brother to Grade 1 chaser Ordinary World (Milan).
