Promising Daughter Of Westerner Draws Clear

Annie Magic (6m Westerner - Sound Case, by Husyan) confirmed the promising nature of her rules debut when running out an impressive winner of the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at Wincanton.

The daughter of Westerner joined the Jeremy Scott stable after running out a clear winner at Nenagh point-to-point for Aidan Fitzgerald and finished second on her first start under rules last month. Ridden by Rex Dingle once again on Thursday, she made virtually all of the running in the two mile and five furlong contest and was pushed along from two out. Clear approaching the final flight, she scored by nine lengths on the line as the favourite, an impressive bumper winner last time, claimed runners-up honours.

“She galloped and jumped really well,” Dingle said after the race. “She's a nice prospect and we'll look forward to going further forward with her.”

The exciting daughter of Westerner was bred by Bryan Gerard Maguire and has a full-brother in training with Aidan Fitzgerald.
