Promising Daughter Of Yeats Goes One Better In Bumper
Switch From Diesel (4f Yeats - Is She Diesel, by Schiaparelli) built on two promising seconds to get off the mark in the fillies’ bumper at Tipperary on Sunday.
The Seamus Fahey-trained bay was beaten just a length by a Willie Mullins-trained favourite on debut and claimed runners-up honours next time out, with the winner having subsequently gained black-type. Partnered by Ray Barron on Sunday, she raced in touch for much of the way and was travelling strongly when joining the leader five furlongs out. In front by the two furlong pole, she kept on well despite signs of inexperience and led by three lengths on the line.
“She was very green when she hit the front but she battled it out well,” the winning trainer later commented. “She is a lovely mare to look forward to and Paul tells me she’s not for sale so that’s an even bigger plus. She might go on holidays now till next year but we'll have to discuss it with the owner.”
Switch From Diesel is owned by Paul Mullins, who also bred the promising daughter of Yeats out of useful hurdler Is She Diesel.
