Promising Soldier Of Fortune Gelding Gains Bumper Win

Bobby’s Fortune (4g Soldier Of Fortune - Jessies Delight, by Multiplex) finished strongly to make a winning start for new connections in Wednesday’s bumper at Ludlow.

The Soldier Of Fortune gelding finished third on debut for Tjade Collier before joining the Evan Williams stable and was partnered by Isabel Williams on his stable debut. Racing in touch for much of the way, he quickened between horses upon turning for home and was switched left to challenge after the two furlong marker. Running on well under pressure, he led close home and kept on to deny a challenger by a short head.

Bred by Tomas Wafer, Bobby’s Fortune is expected to improve when upped in trip, given that his dam’s half-brother Junior excelled over two and a half to three miles.
