Promising Son Of Yeats Strikes On Rules Debut

What A Johnny (5g Yeats - Lola Rosa, by Peintre Celebre) stayed on strongly to make a successful rules debut in Thursday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Stratford.

The son of Yeats placed on two of his three point-to-point starts for Alan Ahern and was sent off favourite to make a winning start for the Olly Murphy yard on Thursday. Racing prominently under Sean Bowen, he was ridden turning for home and stayed on strongly on the run-in to beat long-time leader Havok (Walk In The Park) by a neck.

Owned by William Woodhouse, the son of Yeats becomes the first national hunt winner bred by Cathal Ennis out of Lola Rosa.
