Promising Westerner Gelding Off The Mark At Tattersalls
Jig’s Forge (5g Westerner – Tisonlyme) took another step forward on Sunday to win the five-year-old geldings maiden at Tattersalls.
Ross O’Sullivan’s charge was sent off favourite last month when finishing third at Ballyragget and was reunited with Derek O’Connor on his third start. Racing towards the back of the field for much of the way, he improved to chase the leaders with two fences left to jump. Joining the leader approaching the final fence, he led soon after and kept on well to beat Walking On A Dream (Walk In The Park) by four lengths.
The improving son of Westerner is owned by Mrs Rose Vaughan and was bred by Mrs Karen McLoughney.
