Two Fingers West (Westerner) Wins The Mares Maiden At Ballinaboola

Promising Westerner Mare Wins Maiden On Second Start

Two Fingers West (5m Westerner – Oscar’s Song, by Oscar) built on a promising debut to win Sunday’s maiden for five and six-year-old mares at Ballinaboola.

The Benny Walsh-trained mare finished third to the impressive Air Of Entitlement (Westerner) at Lingstown in December and was partnered by Barry Stone once again on her second start. Initially settled in midfield, she improved into second from the sixth fence and was ridden from the second last. Leading after the final fence, she kept on well to win by four lengths, with a clear gap back to the third.

Two Fingers West was bred by Ballinaroone Stud out of Oscar’s Song (Oscar), who has a four-year-old filly by Walk In The Park and a three-year-old brother to the winner.
