Slowmotion wins G2 for Soldier Of Fortune
Slowmotion (4f Soldier Of Fortune-Second Emotion, by Medaaly) looked a filly with huge potential when winning the G2 REA Grimes Property Consultants Juvenile Hurdle at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday.
An easy Auteuil winner in France in October, the Soldier Of Fortune filly was having only her second start for trainer Aidan O’Brien and owner J P McManus as she came home seven lengths clear of Rashaan.
"She was very good today. She settled brilliantly and jumped very well. She handles an ease in the ground and should stay well. She's a very exciting filly,” said Joseph O’Brien, assistant to his father.
"We'll see how she comes out of this and I'll talk to J P and (racing manager) Frank (Berry). She probably doesn't have to run again but if she does Punchestown would be the logical target."
The filly finished second on her Irish debut and O’Brien added: "She looked like she was going to win everywhere but probably blew up a little at the back of the last. She improved a lot from that.”
