Smart Debut Performance From Mahler Mare
Hathaways Cottage (5m Mahler - Carrig’n May, by Classic Cliche) made a perfect start to her career when winning the five-year-old mares’ maiden at Liscarroll.
Trained by Marie Harding for owner/breeder Mary Turner, the daughter of Mahler was ridden to lead by Eoin O’Brien. Headed after the penultimate fence, she regained the advantage before the last and drew clear on the run-in to win by five lengths, going away.
Hathaways Cottage becomes the second point winner bred by Turner out of Carrig’n May, herself a half-sister to Grade 2 scorer Creepy (Westerner).
