Smart debut winner for Yeats
Southwell’s bumper on Sunday featured a winner who could have a bright future when Yeats’ son Holly Bush Henry (4g Yeats-Maslam, by Robellino) made a sparkling winning debut (pictured on right).
Trainer Tom Lacey holds the John Connolly-bred four-year-old, who cost €20,000 at the 2014 Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale, in high regard and admitted that the victory did not come as a surprise.
“I bought Holly Bush Henry at the Derby Sale and he´s by a serious sire in Yeats. He´s a good horse. I thought he´d win,” Lacey told the Racing Post.
