Smart Son Of Milan Scores On Hurdle Debut
Orbys Legend (4g Milan - Morning Legend, by Bob Back) gained a deserved maiden success when leading home a 1-2 for Milan in Friday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Exeter.
Second on debut between the flags for Liam Kenny, he went on to finish a close second in a bumper for Philip Hobbs and Highclere Thoroughbred Racing last month. The bay raced prominently on his hurdle debut and led approaching three out, but was briefly headed by short-priced favourite The Brass Man (Milan) at the second last. Battling back, Orbys Legend prevailed by three parts of a length on the line, as the front pair finished 16 lengths clear of the field.
Bred by Michael Dillon, the son of Milan provides a timely update for his full-brother selling at the upcoming Tattersalls Ireland November NH Sale.
