Croi Corcra (Soldier Of Fortune) Wins The 4 YO Mares Maiden At Grennan

Soldier Of Fortune Mare Delivers For Owner Breeder

Croi Corcra (4m Soldier Of Fortune - Rapid Heartbeat, by Old Vic) built on a promising debut performance to win the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale Four-Year-Old Mares Maiden at Grennan point-to-point on Sunday.

The Colin Bowe-trained bay raced prominently throughout under Barry O’Neill and faced one clear rival at the second. Gaining a one length advantage at the final fence, she kept on well to win by a length and a half, with another eight lengths back to the third horse.

Owned and bred by PJ Fortune, Croi Corcra is out of a winning three-parts sister to Voler La Vedette. She hails from Soldier Of Fortune’s first crop since moving to the Beeches Stud, as do £210,000 point-to-pointer City Chief and unbeaten Listed winner Belle Metal.
