Croi Corcra (Soldier Of Fortune) Wins The Beginners Chase At Tramore

Soldier Of Fortune Mare Draws Clear In Beginners Chase

Croi Corcra (6m Soldier Of Fortune - Rapid Heartbeat, by Old Vic) produced a fine round of jumping to run out a commanding winner of Thursday’s Beginners Chase at Tramore.

The Colin Bowe-trained mare dropped back to two miles and six furlongs on her second start over fences, with Ricky Doyle riding the bay prominently throughout. Quickening to lead before the second last, she boasted a clear advantage at the final fence and kept on well on the run-in to score by seven lengths.

Croi Corcra gained her first win between the flags as a four-year-old and has since added another three point-to-point wins to her record. The Soldier Of Fortune mare was bred by the late Patrick Fortune and now carries the colours of his son, also Patrick.
