Soldier Of Fortune Mare Gains Well-Earned Win
The consistent Ma Belle Noire (6m Soldier Of Fortune - Loxhill Lady, by Supreme Leader) gained a well-deserved win in the Mares’ Maiden Hurdle at Market Rasen on Sunday.
Harry Fry’s representative was sent off favourite following a number of placed efforts and raced in touch for much of the two and a half mile contest. Asserting at the third last, she was pushed along approaching the final flight and kept on well on the run-in to win by half a length under Sean Bowen. The first two home finished eight lengths clear of the field.
The Soldier Of Fortune mare was bred by Distillery Stud out of Loxhill Lady, who has a three-year-old gelding by Wings Of Eagles yet to race.
