Soldier Of Fortune Mare Impresses In Stamina Test
Not Staying Long (5m Soldier Of Fortune - Princess Bella, by Presenting) appeared to relish a step up in trip when running out an impressive winner of the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at Catterick on Monday.
Racing over three miles and one furlong, the Patrick Neville-trained mare chased the leaders for much of the way and quickened to lead before two out. Soon clear, she won by a comfortable eight and a half lengths under Brian Brian Hughes.
Owned by Mrs Wilma Duffus and bred by Martin Doyle, Not Staying Long is a half-sister to five-time winner Barden Bella (Mahler).
