Soldier Of Fortune Mare Proves A Class Apart On Debut
Mary Stanford (5m Soldier Of Fortune – Maryiver, by Runyon) defied her inexperience when running out an impressive winner of the mares’ maiden at Lisronagh on Sunday.
The Mattie Collins-trained mare was the sole newcomer in the field and made all of the running under Darragh Allen. She boasted a clear lead with two to jump and kept on well on the run-in to win by 11 lengths, with the front pair finishing clear of the remainder.
Mary Stanford is owned by Patrick Collins and was bred by Ivor Dulohery.
