Son Of Flemensfirth Peaks With Grade 2 Victory

The Jessica Harrington-trained Jett (8g Flemensfirth - La Noire, by Phardante) produced a career-best performance to take the Grade 2 Devenish Chase on the Irish Grand National card.

Initially vying for the lead with The Storyteller, the bay took over proceedings at the fourth fence and was traveling the best of the field approaching the third last fence. Ridden to quicken from two out, he stayed on well under Robbie Power to score by four and three quarters lengths, with a further 15 lengths back to the third horse.

Jessica Harrington commented after the race, “We've finally got the key to him. I'll probably keep him going during the summer now as he loves that good ground. Robbie said he had a lot in hand and he will stay three miles.”

Bred and owned by Gerard McGrath, Jett is a half-brother to the same connection’s champion hurdler Jezki (Milan) and Grade 1 winner Jetson (Oscar).
