Son Of Getaway Follows Up With Novice Hurdle Win
The Blame Game (6g Getaway - Tribal Princess, by Namaqualand) built on a promising seasonal return to justify favoritism in Friday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Sedgefield.
Beaten a head over course and distance just a week prior, he was ridden to track the leaders by Brian Hughes and improved into second at the second last. Ridden to leading approaching the final flight, he ran on well to hold off Achy Breaky Heart (Milan) by a length and three quarters.
Trained by James Ewart for James-Douglas Gordon, The Blame Game had previously finished second in two bumpers. The son of Grange Stud sire Getaway was bred by Seamus Murphy and is a half-brother to bumper winner Top Man Marty (Westerner).
