Son Of Getaway Makes Smart Debut In Four-Year-Old Maiden

Well-supported newcomer Fiddaun (4g Getaway – Bean Ki Moon, by King’s Theatre) led home a 1-2-3 for Coolmore NH sires in the four-year-old geldings maiden at Lisronagh on Sunday.

The John Staunton owned and trained bay was sent off favourite on debut and raced prominently throughout under Derek O’Connor. Ridden from the second last, he leapt into the lead at the final fence and kept on well to score by four lengths. Fellow newcomer Fortunate Fella (Soldier Of Fortune) claimed runners-up honours, while Centre Forward (Yeats) finished another length and a half back in third.

The promising son of Getaway was bred by Tim Hegarty.
