Son Of Leading Light Proves A Cut Above
Buzz Light (4g Leading Light - Talk To The Missus, by Executive Perk) appeared to relish softer conditions when running out a clear winner of the Sheridan Electric Hurdle at Ballinrobe.
Placed twice previously, Michael Mulvany’s charge stepped up to two miles and two furlongs on Monday and chased the leader under Sean Flanagan. Producing a challenge at the penultimate flight, he led approaching the last and raced clear on the run-in to win by nine lengths.
Speaking after the race, the winning trainer said, “We were confident enough coming here that he’d handle the ground as he’s out-and-out National-Hunt bred.”
Buzz Light may next be seen in the Lartigue Hurdle at Listowel. Owned by the Heads Or Harps Syndicate and bred by Charlie Harnett, he continues a fine run for Leading Light, who had four first crop winners last week.
