Son Of Mahler Draws Clear In Novices Hurdle
Tardree (8g Mahler - Brownie Points, by Bob Back) gained his first win over hurdles in impressive fashion at Southwell on Monday.
Twice a winner over fences, the Laura Morgan-trained chesnut finished second over hurdles on his last two starts. Sent off favourite for the Novices’ Hurdle over two miles, he was ridden to make all by Adam Wedge and was shaken up to draw clear from the second last. The Bennett and O’Brien-owned gelding went on to win by 15 lengths with ease.
Tardree gained his first career victory between the flags at Tyrella, where he drew 15 lengths clear for Colin McKeever. The son of Mahler was bred by Thomas Maher.
