Son Of Milan Extends Unbeaten Record With Ease
Marown (6g Milan – Rosie Suspect, by Presenting) brought his unbeaten record to three when running out an easy winner of Saturday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Ayr.
The €80,000 store purchase won a bumper last March and went on to win his hurdle debut in January. He was sent off a short-priced favourite on his latest start and was ridden to chase the leader by Brian Hughes. Asserting at the third last flight, he was shaken up approaching the final flight and ran on to win by nine and a half lengths, the field strung out behind him.
Trained by Nicky Richards for Trevor Hemmings, Marown was bred by John Donovan. The same connections own his half-brother Castle Rushen (Fame And Glory), a winner on debut in January.
