Son Of Milan Gains Second Novice Hurdle Success
Malpas (7g Milan - Skipping Along, by Anshan) made all to record his second success in Thursday’s Novices’ Hurdle at Carlisle.
Donald McCain’s charge was sent off favourite under Brian Hughes and increased the pace from two out. Shaken up at the final flight, he ran on well to win by five lengths from Lewa House (Yeats), while Punta Prima (Mahler) took third.
The N Hartley-owed bay got off the mark over course and distance in October and has since been placed on three occasions. The son of Milan was bred by Michael Moakley.
