Son Of Milan Hits High Notes With Maiden Win
The Denis Murphy-trained Masters Voice (5g Milan - Agladora, by Take Risks) ran out an impressive ten length winner of the Five-Year-Old Maiden at Tralee on Saturday.
The Pat Coffey-owned bay had impressed connections at home, based on being sent off favourite on debut two weeks prior, when he finished a promising fourth. Once again ridden by Jamie Codd, he chased the leaders for much of the way and improved to lead from the third last fence. Gaining a two length advantage before the next, he stretched clear thereafter and overturned the form of his debut, with the second of that maiden once again claiming runners-up honours at Tralee.
Bred by Patrick Moran, Masters Voice repays the patience of his owner, who bought him as a foal. He is a half-brother to the promising bumper horse Slip Road and Paddy Boss, successful on his sole start for Alan King.
